Chinese in Flow

You can adjust things in anyway you like by clicking on the settings button. You can be presented with the , pinyin, English or audio and the match that to the characters, pinyin, English or any combination.

I recommended to a friend with an apple phone , but he couldnt find in apple store. Do you have an apple version?

I hope you can enjoy or find this stimulating and that you can improve your Chinese.

Your app is soooOOOO helpfull and efficient! Thank to it I can memorize upto 30 chinese words (with ton) a day. Moreover, I turn each character into a picture. For example, quian (money)euro symbol can be seen in it.Does it exist in other languages?

I am a Chinese teacher. You can contact me if I can help.

If you know most of the characters already and can match them easily then you eventually enter sudden death mode where you quickly match the 30 character but then a single mistake ends the game.

The idea is that you can study characters in a way that is mildly interesting and can hold your attention while also being rapid and repetitive. Its also a little bit adaptive in that it repeats characters that you dont know while shelving characters you know first time.

Added HSK 4 and 5 – without audio. This, especially level 5, is quite beyond my Chinese ability, so Im afraid that the translations may not be as accurate as those for HSK 1 to 3. Please let me know if you find any issues or think that any items should be altered.

Congratulations, Ive always loved this program and now I think it is even better.(Have you considered adding HSK4 and other levels words ?)

Excelent game, if I pass HSK 5 next month in part is for this website.

The 150 characters are split into sets of 30 and you choose which set you want to study at the second screen.

Ive been using it alot recently so thanksvm for making it , although my focus is more on the traditional forms of the characters. Is there anyway I can help you to input traditional characters (as an additional option)?

I hope you find someone.. these flashcards have already helped me a lot

Thank you for sharing this and I dont want to be critical but do you know that there are HSK5 characters in the games at HSK4 level. This may seem a trivial point but spoils an otherwise excellent site and as Im only studying to HSK4 level it can frustrating for an unknown character to pop up.

Sorry, no version for Apple, but you can use this web version on Apple devices.

This game was awesome and helpful to remember characters for HSK test.

I made a few other changes to this version. The content should load faster as it doesnt wait for the audio to be loaded before proceeding. The scores have also been rejigged somewhat and also the timings should adjust more to the player rather than just being really fast all the time. If you find the timer is running down too quickly for you please let me know, although, bear in mind that its probably because you know all the characters and so the game is trying to challenge you.

Thank you for this game ?Its really helpful!

Great!!! Im just tried to until be the fastest on HSK 1 and 2

I would like to add HSK 4, but I dont have anyone to do the audio recording. It really needs a native speaker, with a clear voice, who knows to focus on the tones.

When learning English learners typically have to meet a word 6-9 times (ideally in different contexts and separated by different time spans) in order to comfortably know the word. With this in mind I set this to repeat characters that you dont initially know again and again until you can correctly identify them 6 times.

appreciable start to learn Chinese, it will make your Chinese language fluent and good. this is very helpful for all the learners of Chinese. thank you for this amazing blog post.

Excellent work! thank you very much!!

Really nice and effective tool, thanks for making it.Could you please check the timing of sudden death Tile display, because it seems that some tiles change after the new target word displays. Often my eyes have moved from the tile and discarded it, but then it changes. I think it os mostly on the last tile selected and it does not dispkay until after the new clue is given. It should dispkay first. If true it creates quite a bit of frustration. I am android.

I think this is the right method for learning Chinese. your game is just outstanding I really enjoyed it. thanks for sharing such a great thing with us.

Oh, I really enjoyed all the other games you had! It was such a fun way to learn Chinese. It saves me making tons of flashcards to learn everyday vocab. Its such a shame you got rid of it. Im really disappointed, I was hoping to use this fun resource.

Thank you so much for this game and these flashcards! It has really helped me learn Chinese in all the forms that I wish (tone, character, simplified, commonly used words instead of learning characters which are only used in formal language etc.) Also love the English or Chinese word at the top option! Also loved how it helped me know where to start / which characters to learn first.

I am really enjoying this!! Thank you!

It was very helpful for me to know about the Chinese language and the things you have compile up is great which made it more easier,.

Wonderful APP. It helps me before my chineese trips, to read chineese Letters Fluently.I would like to prefair the Language options in German translation. It would like my learnig process much faster.

Hi! Your app is absolutely amazing! I used it and passed HSK 4 in October and jumped a whole level and passed HSK 5 in December and I only used your app to study! Are you going to expand and update into HSK 6 anytime soon? Thanks ?

The focus is completely on recognition rather than production. As I talk about in the about section the key idea is to re-enforce the instant of initial recognition. For example, concentrating on the same character for 30 seconds would be useful but in doing so you dont practice the initial recognition of the character as youre constantly thinking about it. Instead, if you have a few different characters and repeatedly have to recognize them in quick succession then the recognition is strengthened a lot more.

This is a resource for practicing Chinese characters. Specifically the characters for the HSK 1 test. It is a simple click and match game that I hope can be useful for reviewing characters.

Hi, no plans to update to HSK 6. My Chinese level is no where near good enough to get the characters right.

Ive combined all the different HSK games together into this version. While it may look pretty much the same, this version is preferable as it is made with HTML5 instead of flash. Ive also got removed all the links to the other games and now just show this one on the front page. The other games are still there, but now there is no link to them. I did this partly because they all use flash, but also because I dont think they are very good and I think that its better to just have this one decent game showing. One decent game is better than a dozen mediocre ones. Whats more, the other games were really only ever copies of the games fromthis sitewith a few minor alterations.

I also removed the button for Audio as it was quite redundant. The same kind of play can easily be achieved by tapping on the settings button in game. Instead there is the Options button, which allows for the timer to be removed.
